Founded in 1989, we design and manufacture metal stamped and assembled parts, tubes, and engineered assemblies for the light vehicle and commercial vehicle markets. We are very good at what we do; we count many of the world’s largest corporations among our customers.  We keep them supplied from two locations in central Indiana, Edinburgh and Columbus. Sacoma is a design and engineering-driven company, working with customers to optimize performance and manufacturing efficiency from the initial design stage through mature products.

     

    The Laser Operator is responsible for operating a laser, loading and running the 2D and 3D programs for the laser, quality measurements, continuous improvement, and knowing how to start and stop the laser safely. The Laser Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the laser.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Operate machine in a safe manner
    • Load and Run programs set by the Laser Programmer
    • Responsible for following Laser PM Schedule
    • Adjust Laser program as needed using basic editing techniques and 3D Editor software
    • Be responsible for all quality measurements and judgments
    • Know how to start and stop Laser properly
    • Implement continuous improvement ideas
    • 5-S responsibility for the area
    • Keep necessary operational and quality records and complete required paperwork
    • Troubleshoot problems and adjust machine as necessary to correct

    Qualifications

    1. High School Diploma or GED required
    2. 1+ years of experience in a similar position
    3. Familiarity with material handling equipment
    4. Ability to communication effectively, both written and verbal
    5. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    6. Analytical and problem solving skills
    7. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
    8. Willingness and ability to work overtime
    9. Willing to work 2nd shift
