    Sacoma was founded in 1989, we design and manufacture metal stamped and assembled parts, tubes, and engineered assemblies for the light vehicle and commercial vehicle markets. We are very good at what we do; we count many of the world’s largest corporations among our customers. We keep them supplied from three locations in central Indiana, Edinburgh, Columbus, and Madison.     The Press Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups and operating the mechanical press line with coil handling equipment. Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.

    Responsibilities

    1. Set-up and operate mechanical press line with coil handling equipment
    2. Perform machine set-ups as needed when the production schedule demands.
    3. Trouble shoot machines and adjust the functions and settings of machines
    4. Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
    5. Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
    6. Perform preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extended
    7. Conduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
    8. Participate in 5S activities

     

    Qualifications

     

     

    1. High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical degree a plus
    2. 1+ years previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
    3. Prior stamping or press experience desired
    4. Working knowledge of mechanical press
    5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    6. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    7. Analytical and problem solving skills
    8. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
    9. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
    10. Attention to detail
    11. Must have willingness and ability to work overtime
