    Sacoma was founded in 1989, we design and manufacture metal stamped and assembled parts, tubes, and engineered assemblies for the light vehicle and commercial vehicle markets. We are very good at what we do; we count many of the world’s largest corporations among our customers. We keep them supplied from two locations in central Indiana, Edinburgh and Columbus.     The toolmaker is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting tooling and fixtures and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on installed tooling to minimize downtime, keeping safety as the number one priority.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company.  We are  looking for people who want to make a difference.


    ***Very competitive hourly wage with a $500 sign on bonus!  2nd and 3rd shift differential of $0.75 per hour.  Great benefits including tuition reimbursement










      1. Follow all safety procedures, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), controls, safety, devices, lock out/tag out, etc.
      2. Maintain assembly lines and other tooling to improve processes resulting in increased productivity and quality parts
      3. Proficiently operate lathe, drill press, mills, wet grinder, hand tools, etc.
      4. Troubleshoot tooling issues in the production area and in the tooling room, recommend and implement solutions to fix problems
      5. Minimize downtime, repair on the line or in the press if possible, by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts
      6. Recommend modifications to new and existing tooling and fixtures to improve safety / ergonomic issues, quality and dimensional issues, productivity and/or efficiency
      7. Monitor spare parts requirements to continuously improve process
      8. Maintain accurate documentation for purposes of good communication and lessons learned
      9. Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs
      10. Recommend additional PM’s and die improvements to assure improved performance, part quality and die life
      11. Effectively and positively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and drive improvement activities Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
      12. Other duties as assigned





      • High school diploma
      • 5+ years of relevant experience with tooling, stamping, welding assembly, production or similar processes. 4-year trade school preferred
      • Must have a basic knowledge of drafting (GDT, blueprint reading, dimension drawing, AutoCAD, etc.)
      • Ability to accurately use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.
      • Strong problems solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
      • Ability to weld and restore tooling to original condition
      • Ability to use basic hand tools, hand grinder, band and cut off saw etc.  
      • Proficient in repairing progressive and transfer dies
      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion
      • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
